CREDIT / DEBITS & AAM ACCOUNTS

The Authentication & Accounting Module (AAM) Account is a unique digital wallet of pre-deposited funds accessible to you for paying for library services. Funds cannot at any time be withdrawn from this account and is only used at patron-specific machines associated for photocopying, network and wireless printing, digital faxing, library fines, etc.

Account Closures

  • The credit remaining on an AAM Account is available for in-house services, such as., photocopying, network and wireless printing, digital faxing, and library fines.
  • The Library will not refund any monies deposited onto the AAM Account.
  • The Library reserves the right to close any AAM Printing Accounts without advance knowledge, especially if said account has been inactive for three years (36 months).

Refunds, Chargebacks & Disputes

When a library fee/fine has been paid using a credit card and a refund is necessary, the refund must be charged back to the account originally charged. Refunds over the original amount paid are prohibited. In the event of a refund, charge back or dispute, the library's Business Office Manager - under the guidance of our governing authority - will investigate the transaction and respond appropriately.

Use of Funds

To sign up for this feature, you must visit the library's website and use a credit/debit card to deposit an initial fund amount (up to the maximum allowed) onto your AAM account. In doing so, it means you understand and agree that your AAM Account is not a credit card, nor can it be used to obtain cash or cash advances. Furthermore, AAM Accounts must contain, at the very least, the exact amount necessary to cover all transactions.

Library fees and related services can also be paid from monies already deposited into one's AAM Account at a self-checkout kiosk.

The cardholder may also view current account balances by clicking "Access Account(s)" via the Pay Online Portal as explained above in Step 2.0 or in person at any print release terminal.

Privacy Statement

Credit card payment details collected electronically are encrypted using secure server technology. At no time does the Library store credit card information. This information is only accessible to authorized credit card vendors and financial institutions to complete your transaction. The library is not responsible for debit/credit card transactions paid by unauthorized users. Unauthorized use of patron debit/credit card to pay for library services should be handled by the patron with their respective financial institution. We strongly encourage users to add funds from their personal devices and not on public access computers to prevent accidental saving of account credentials.

PERSONAL CHECKS

Checks will be accepted for the exact amount of fines and/or fees only. Patrons must have a current library card in good standing with correct name, address, and telephone number, and a picture ID to be able to use a check as a payment method.

Checks are accepted only in U.S. dollars and drawn on a U.S. bank. Checks must have a valid, nine-digit bank routing number (ABA code) MICR-encoded and the account number on the bottom of the check. The library cannot accept starter checks or checks with names and/or addresses handwritten or typed in.

A valid, legal form of photo identification must be provided for verification purposes.

Charges for the amount of original payment will be added back to a patron’s account when a check is returned from the bank for any reason. Borrowing and other library privileges may be suspended until payment is made to the library in accordance with this policy.

Bossier Parish Library reserves the right to refuse a check as a payment method if a previous check has been returned unpaid.
